SBR Jobs recruits the leadership that builds AI data centers and mission critical facilities: mission critical Project Executives, MEP Superintendents, Commissioning Managers, preconstruction and estimating leaders, and the field teams that deliver hyperscale campuses. Direct-hire executive search, based in California, recruiting for data center programs in California and nationwide.
The explosion of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-density data infrastructure has unleashed a historic surge in data center construction. Major tech firms are awarding multi-billion-dollar campuses at a pace the industry has never seen, and they are aggressively hiring the top construction talent to build them.
Data center projects are draining the leadership ranks of GCs, developers, and specialty contractors nationwide. Roles that once served commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects are being pulled into large-scale data center programs, and only a small subset of the workforce has true hyperscale or mission critical experience. That scarcity is the bottleneck on every awarded program, and it’s exactly where a specialist recruiter earns their fee.
Fifty-one seconds on the hidden risk in hyperscale construction: the MEP, commissioning and mission critical leadership seats that decide whether a campus energizes on schedule, and why the people who have delivered one are already on the next build.
We speak the language these builds run on: hyperscale vs. colocation vs. enterprise, MEP coordination at data hall density, commissioning levels 1 through 5, long-lead switchgear and generator procurement, phased turnover on live campuses. That’s what makes our outreach land with candidates who ignore every other recruiter.

Construction leadership recruiting since 1997. We know who has real hyperscale scars and who just has a data center logo on their resume.
The MEP Super you need is on a live campus right now, not on a job board. We approach them directly, peer to peer.
Offer acceptance industry-wide has fallen to 20%. Our searches run on mapped markets and weekly reporting, because slow kills in mission critical hiring.
Every search is benchmarked against our own 2026 data center salary data, so your offer clears the market the first time.

The margin for error. Commissioning, MEP coordination, and phased turnover on live campuses demand people who have done it before, and only a small pool has. Screening for real hyperscale experience is most of the work, and it’s work a generalist recruiter can’t do.
In California, $140,000 to $185,000 base in 2026; Senior PMs run $170,000 to $215,000. Outside California, roughly 20% less. Premiums stack on top for hyperscale program experience.
Yes. Half of this fight is retention: knowing the market rate before your best Super gets the call. We share the benchmarks, and when you do lose someone, we refill the seat fast.
Mission critical project executives and project managers, general superintendents and superintendents, MEP coordinators and MEP project managers, commissioning managers, QA/QC managers, preconstruction and estimating leads, and VP level construction leadership for hyperscale and colocation programs.
We do. SBR is based in Sacramento and has recruited California construction leadership since 1997. For data center work we cover Santa Clara and the greater Bay Area, Sacramento and the Central Valley, and we place superintendents relocating into California programs from other data center markets.
Yes. MEP is where data center schedules are won or lost, so we recruit MEP project managers and coordinators, electrical and mechanical superintendents, and commissioning managers who have taken live facilities through Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning and energization.
All three. The general contractors and construction managers building hyperscale and colocation campuses, the electrical and mechanical contractors carrying the MEP scope, and the owners’ and operators’ construction and development teams. Every search is confidential and direct hire only.
